Our Mission
IBIC CHANGE is a Registered Community Interest Company and was set up with the aim to create a cultural paradigm shift across all ethnic communities and cultures. IBIC Change is a social enterprise created to support and empower individuals, including ex-prisoners to be the best version of themselves, by creating an environment that affirms success and challenges individuals to realise their purpose.
To change the narrative about mental health and health inequalities across all communities, through education and empowerment.
To implement effective measures that will impact the next generation to change the way we think and deal with mental health across all cultures.
Our Story
Established during the 21st Century, IBIC (I believe I can change) originated from a profound moment of inspiration found within the pages of a notebook acquired the same year, bearing the empowering words, 'She believed she could and she did.' This mantra emerged from a period of personal adversity and workplace bullying, reshaping my perception of self and profoundly influencing my self-esteem and confidence. Motivated by the belief that transformative change is achievable, I embarked on a journey to redefine self-perception and empower others to do the same. Drawing from diverse professional experiences spanning community youth groups, educational institutions, and engagement with prisoners, equips me with the experience to support your organisation. I presently serve on a reparation youth panel, offering young people a pathway to change.
IBIC Change developed further during a reflective pitch preparation, and a Rubik's Cube was used to represent the company. Much like life's complexities, the cube begins in perfect alignment, and starts with one square being out of place and another. Before you know it, there is a challenge to put the cube back to perfection. Just as solving the cube requires patience and perseverance, navigating life's challenges demands time and resilience to piece together the fragments of our existence.
My professional roles include: Psychologist, Lecturer, Counsellor, Mental Health First Aider, Radio Presenter, Coach, Mentor, Event Planner, and Mother. I am committed to facilitating a transformative journey and fostering resilience amidst life's ever-changing landscape.
We currently have two supportive directors, Vanessa and Darren. Both directors are passionate about the organisations mission and objective. Their experiences span both education, private and public sector areas of expertise.
